Mark Vinten BA (Economics), MA (Social Policy)

Mark Vinten has over 23 years experience in supporting organisations to achieve the best contribution from their short term and strategic objectives through developing more efficient and effective use of their staff, especially by optimising the use of information technology and redesigning operational processes.

Mark leads teams of specialists and senior managers undertaking organisational and departmental reviews, developing staffing strategies including preparing workforce plans and impementing a range of operational policies to help focus and encourage staff contribution and engagement. A key element of this process frequently involves revising work practices and processes, and role redesign to realise the potential benefits of new technology.

He has undertaken projects have ranged in size from those involving small departments with special issues to organisations which have several thousand employees working on a number of different sites involving multi-million pound investment decisions. He has developed staffing strategies which have included preparing detailed and budgeted workforce plans to support the targeting of investments and the identification of risks; role and organisational redesign; productivity reviews; training and development strategies, remuneration reviews, recruitment and retention initiatives and labour market analyses. He has worked with a number of Universities in developing courses for specialist staff. He leads teams in designing, developing and delivering management information and IT systems. These have included developing a variety of applications using a range of techniques in designing applications and technologies including networking, web-based solutions and databases.

Mark has designed, developed and delivered a number of training and development programmes to middle and senior managers which have included specialist knowledge development and skills building in using IT. Some of these programmes have been supported by specially produced digital training packages using a variety of media delivered by CD and over the web. Mark has undertaken projects in both the private and public sectors including the NHS where he has worked at the managerial and clinical interface and at a variety of organisational levels.
